Montgomery County Jail Custody
Montgomery County Correctional Facility, often shortened to MCCF, is the primary adult jail facility serving Montgomery County. The official county correctional facility page describes the jail as the place where male and female adults are housed while awaiting trial, serving county sentences, reporting for weekend or DUI sentence commitments, or held under court orders. The jail is operated through Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the Montgomery County Board of Prison Inspectors, not as a sheriff-run jail.
The facility sits in Lower Providence Township, away from the Norristown courthouse offices where many court events and Clerk of Courts records are handled. That local split matters. A criminal docket may show a Montgomery County court event in Norristown while the person is physically housed at MCCF in Eagleville. A person sentenced to state prison may later move into Pennsylvania Department of Corrections custody, where MCCF visiting, mail, and money rules no longer apply.
The Pennsylvania DOC county prison inspection schedule lists MCCF with a capacity of 2,080, region SE, Warden Sean P. McGee, and a 2025 inspection date. The county page lists the same facility location and public phone number.
MCCF Inmate Lookup
No official public Montgomery County Correctional Facility online roster was located in the official county pages reviewed. That finding should control the search path. Do not rely on a claimed MCCF public roster unless it is confirmed by Montgomery County. For current adult county custody, call Montgomery County Correctional Facility at 610-635-7100 and ask what public custody, booking, release, visiting, or mail information can be released.
After the phone check, use Pennsylvania VINE for custody notification and status alerts where available. Use the Pennsylvania UJS case search for criminal dockets, charges, bail, events, and dispositions after a case is filed. Use the Pennsylvania DOC locator only for state-sentenced inmates and parolees, because PA.gov says county-facility inmates are not covered by that state locator.
- Call MCCF first for current adult county jail custody, release, visitor-list, and booking-number questions.
- Check Pennsylvania VINE for custody notifications tied to a person or case.
- Search UJS docket sheets for filed charges, bail status, court dates, and docket numbers.
- Use PA DOC only after sentencing or transfer into state prison custody.
- Use BOP or ICE locators only when federal or immigration custody is the likely path.
Note: A court docket is not the same record as an MCCF custody confirmation, even when both refer to the same arrest.
MCCF Address and Contact
MCCF is the practical contact point for adult county jail custody, visiting, mail, inmate account, medical hotline, and release questions. The sheriff's office has important warrant and courthouse duties, but the research file does not identify the sheriff as the operator of the adult jail. For a current person in custody, ask the jail what information is public and what must be requested through another office.

MCCF Visiting Rules
The county visiting schedule page ties personal visits to the inmate's approved visitor list and pre-registration process. People on the visitor list must pre-register on the days the county allows, produce identification, have a photo taken, and obtain a visitor badge. The research also notes a one-time badge fee and a replacement fee for a lost card.
Attorney, probation, and official visits have broader posted windows than personal visits. Personal visitors should confirm the current schedule before traveling because pre-hearing and disciplinary segregation inmates do not receive visits, and no morning visiting sessions are held on the second Thursday due to the Prison Board inspection. Visit scheduling and video visitation are linked through the facility's vendor tools.
| Visit Item | Montgomery County Details |
|---|---|
| Visitor registration | Monday and Friday only, 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. |

The ConnectNetwork/ViaPath MCCF page lists facility Site ID 4 and links services for visitation scheduling and video visitation. Account setup may be required for the vendor functions.
MCCF Mail and Money
MCCF personal mail is routed to a scanning address in Phoenix, Maryland. That is not SCI Phoenix in Collegeville. The county mail procedures page requires the full facility name, inmate name, and booking number. Legal mail follows a separate rule: when properly marked as federal, state, local official, or lawyer mail, it is opened in the inmate's presence with staff present.
Money orders are handled differently from personal mail and must go to the Bookkeeping Office at the Eagleville facility. Care packages are handled through Access Securepak. The county commissary page allows one package per inmate per week and states that internet orders are blocked when the inmate account has a negative balance until the balance is paid.
| Service | Provider or Address |
|---|---|
| Personal mail | Montgomery County Correctional Facility; Inmate Name, Booking Number; P.O. Box 247; Phoenix, MD 21131. |
| Legal mail | Opened in the inmate's presence when properly marked as official or attorney mail. |
| Phone, trust, messaging, tablets | ConnectNetwork/ViaPath, facility Site ID 4. |
| Care packages | Access Securepak, one $125 package per inmate per week. |
| Money order | Bookkeeping Office at MCCF, with proper name and booking number. |
MCCF Programs and Oversight
The county documents several facility services for people in custody. The medical services page says the medical department operates on site at all times, performs preliminary health assessments at arrival, receives daily written and oral health complaints, and refers higher-level needs to physicians, dentists, mental health professionals, or outside specialists. The same county material states that MCCF is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
The facility also documents library access, religious services, mental and behavioral health coordination, and work release. The work release and community work page dates the program to 1968 and says it provides work or employment for more than 250 sentenced male and female participants. That program is for sentenced people in a minimum-security setting, not for every person booked into county jail custody.
The Board of Prison Inspectors performs monthly inspections and hears incarcerated people's concerns. Board notes can be passed to medical providers and MCCF administrators for follow-up. The board's inspection schedule also explains why personal visiting can be affected on the second Thursday of the month.
The official Montgomery County Correctional Facility page is the source for the facility's public contact and operational summary. It is a matching visual source for this facility record.
The county page should be paired with direct phone confirmation because it does not publish a current public MCCF roster.
MCCF Booking Intake
MCCF intake covers ordinary arrest commitments, court orders, and scheduled self-commitments for weekend or DUI sentences. The county's self-commitment material says a person must report on the date and time in the commitment papers, identify themselves to the officer on duty, and bring required court paperwork. The research also documents booking and short-stay fees for new committals and short county commitments.
Medical screening begins at intake. Correctional staff perform an initial health assessment, and people needing immediate care are referred for treatment. Pretrial Services also operates from MCCF for criminal background review, interpreter scheduling, defense counsel coordination, preliminary arraignment scheduling, and bail review support. For court-record details after booking, the court records after jail arrest page explains the UJS docket path.
Note: Confirm custody, visitor status, and current facility rules with MCCF before traveling to Eagleville.
